Scott Wiener

Senator Scott Wiener has represented San Francisco and northern San Mateo County in the California State Senate since 2016. His pioneering work to end the housing crisis helped spark the national pro-housing movement, and has inspired legislation to create housing abundance in states across the country and in Congress. He has authored over 100 state laws, including groundbreaking work to hold ICE accountable for secret police tactics, cap co-pays for insulin, streamline permitting for public transit and rooftop solar, and much more. Before his election to the Senate, Senator Wiener served as a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, representing the district previously represented by Harvey Milk. Senator Wiener has lived in San Francisco's Castro neighborhood since 1997.
