Jan Sramek

Founder & CEO of California Forever

Jan Sramek is the Founder & CEO of California Forever, a company building the next great American city, and the first major new city built in America since 1960s. Between 2016 and 2023, Jan was the founder and sole employee of the company who raised over a billion dollars and acquired over 68,000 acres (~106 square miles) in Solano County, an hour north of Silicon Valley.

Today, California Forever is building a new city focused on manufacturing, which includes the proposed Solano Shipyard, the largest shipbuilding complex in America, and the Solano Foundry, the largest advanced manufacturing park in America, both surrounded by amazing walkable neighborhoods.

Earlier in his career, Jan read Mathematics and Economics at Trinity College, Cambridge, and the London School of Economics, and worked as a trader at Goldman Sachs. Born in Central Europe on the eve of the fall of the Berlin Wall, Jan believes in Pax Americana, and in California that builds like it once did.

The Festival of Progressive Abundance

Join YIMBY Democrats for America, Radio Abundance, and a coalition of partners to kick off 2026 with a 3-day summit and festival in Los Angeles this January 30th , January 31st, and February 1st, 2026.

We’ll party together, forge new bonds and allies, dive deep on policy and strategy, train for impact, celebrate the past year’s wins, and set the agenda for 2026. Along the way, you’ll meet leaders and experts who champion Building America, Defeating Fascism, and Unleashing the Era of Progressive Abundance.

The Venue: Cinevita

The CineVita in Los Angeles, right next to SoFi Stadium, is the world’s largest Spiegeltent, a tradition of old mobile dance halls and circus theaters. Cinevita features hand-carved wood, more than 3,000 hand-beveled mirrors, and rich red and gold accents. Originally named for the Dutch word for mirror, this romantically-vintage venue a was crafted by a family of four generations of Spiegeltent makers. Brand new and with high-tech rock concert lighting, The Festival of Progressive Abundance at The Cinevita in Los Angeles will hearken back to the Art Deco glory days of Hollywood and the old-fashioned American political tradition of barnstorming through vaudeville theaters.
